Just like I wouldn't infringe upon your second amendment rights, I wouldn't infringe upon their first amendment rights. The more attention they get, the more they bask in it. Ignore them, and they go away.

In a country where people are judged by their peers, I would bet someone could gun down the whole picket, claim temporary insanity and be acquitted by their peers.

Agreed, but the acts of aggression that they live on are through their picketing. It's different and far more dangerous once that aggression is moved to their personal homes. Not to mention their financial information being released too.

Also, given the threat of long term "war" this could very well be just the beginning of what they have in mind for these idiots.

Never underestimate the lengths a religious fanatic will go to in order to adhere to their dogma. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they've already had internal discussions about martyrdom in anticipation of some act of violence against them.
