I would only proceed once you have a line on an aftermarket kit from a reputable manufacturer who can provide several references for you to talk to and perhaps a demo car that you can drive. If you going to really boost it, then yes you would need new internals - but then you putting a lot of added stress on everything else - some of which might not have been designed to handle higher loads. So the net is that you want someone else to have sorted all this out - otherwise you'll spend a lot of $ and still have to replace you engine after yours melts.

Techniqueturbo.com makes a turbo special for our cars. My 330 is turbo'd. The power is awesome but does cause vacuum leaks every so often. May just have to get better hoses n such. Not sure.
Running 8lbs of boost.

the 328 internals are pretty good. you'll want to do a compression/leak down test likely to gauge how the engine is.
depending on kit used(and you will want to use a reputable brand kit) and boost you may need to change the head gasket to lower compression. you can't really get a quick simple answer online without really doing lots of research from the maker of the kit. but yes the 328 unlike the 325/323 has the forged crankshaft and internal specs better suited for FI. go to the FI section of this forum for better answers from "those in the know".

I'm about to start the break down and rebuild of my engine and wanted some opinions on good rods and pistons anyone know of any. I had wiseco pistons and rods in mind for my build I'm looking to push about 4-500 horses.

You can find 84.5mm bore pistons from JE, Wiseco, or CP. Eagle rods are affordable and usable once they've been balanced. I made right around 350whp before I lost compression on the bone stock engine. I was using a gt3076r @ ~12psi.

Was just searching the web for more things to complete my project I came across a link on the e90 fanatics page that the 325/328 can get 35-50 horses just buy upgrading to the 330 intake manifold. For them it looks like old news, but I never knew, so I'm just sharing the info.

Hit a major bump in the road in my project then came across two really great deals. Both are for m3 motors, one is the s52 and the other the s54 which one is the best choice.

OP you're bouncing around like a ping pong ball... Figure out what you're looking to accomplish and the best option for such. Don't just blow money ordering a lot of crap.
I looked into turbo for Quite a while and went with AA supercharger... Seemed like a safer, better bet.

I'm not bouncing around. I came to a choice buy a head and the block is warped. Or buy a whole new engine that would cost me the same amount as a m3.

if your just aiming for 400 crank hp then the stock internals should be ok. I've put 10k on my car with 20lbs of boost with no problems, but I'm sure I'm at the limit. Data log estimated 522 crank hp hehe
