Keyless entry issues please help!
i have a 2003 330i
so i am having issues with my keyless entry if anyone has any suggestions. So here is the problem, about 6 months ago my keyless entry started to fade i thought it was the battery so i changed it out in one of my keys, but then i found out it was ok just needed to be reprogrammed so i did it to 2 of my keys and it started working again no problems, but the last 2 months or so it has been hit or miss on locking and unlocking and it would work half the time and i would have to be close and still hit and miss. Now it does not work at all and i have been trying with 2 different keys. I drove around for about an hour with each key charging and then i tried again... nothing keyless entry does not work at all anymore. i followed these steps to reprogram, get in car close all doors, lock car, insert key turn to position 1 then take key out hold the unlock button down while pressing the lock button 3 times and then on 3rd time releasing all buttons at the same time. Nothing.. car does not show me with the locks that it is reprogrammed. At work i can use the keyreader to read my bmw key and it works, so i know that the chips are still good and the car is responding to my key. i just want to see if there is something i can do before i hand my car over to the bmw techs at work. Ideas?

Your keyreader likely reads the EWS chip, not the keyfob signal.
Suggest you try to find one of these Energizer keyfob testers at your local auto parts store and/or borrow someones working key and sync it to your car. The only problem is if you do this, your borrowed key will need to be resynced back with the car the key belongs to. Also see the GM5/Key info in my signature below.
