2000 E46 323Ci aftermarket radio reception problem
I'm having trouble with the radio reception in my Pioneer aftermarket stereo. I've bought and fitted one of these amplified antenna adapters with the red cable connected to Pin 16 on the loom coming from the car which I believe is +12v Antenna Power.
![]() I thought that this would then 'power' the unit as in the factory fitted model that came with the car originally. The reception is still poor and just as it was before I fitted the adapter. Any advice greatly appreciated. I've taken off the C-pillar and all connections are home and where they should be. Thanks in advance. Last edited by jockscot1; 12-21-2012 at 02:12 AM. |

Ok thanks will do. I've also read that the red cable on the adapter should be connected to a red cable on the car. Will need to check and see what this red cable is and whether it is powered or not.

i think also some of bmw's models have the antenna amp powered by the head unit, my 2002 coupe did'nt but i am in australia and i am not sure about the european models. If that is the case with yours you have the wrong adaptor there, you need one that sends power back up the antenna cable.
