ABS/DSC lights and codes

Hello all,

My abs, dsc, red brake, and tire pressure lights have been coming on for about a month now. Sometimes when I start the car the yellow brake and abs lights illuminate and the condition I mentioned above happens when I start driving. Other times, the lights stay off for a whole day. Cruise control is disabled when the lights are on. INPA reads out the following codes:

115 control unit error, frequency 3, 0.00 km/h
182 steering angle CAN bus error, frequency 3, 0.00 km/h
118 control unit error, electromagnetic interference wheel speed sensor, frequency 7, 10.00 km/h

Could any of you fine e46'ers help me with identifying the issue(s)? I have googled around a bit and I found a couple of the errors individually, but not at the same time. I'm guessing maybe a combination of wheel speed sensor and maybe DSC module from what I have seen on other threads, but I am not knowledgeable enough to know which code would indicate which.

Forgot to mention:2001 m3

did you ever determine what the problem was? i have brake light, traction control light and abs on. I've read everything from abs control module, steering angle sensor, wheel speed sensor, brake light switch, alignment.... list goes on. Getting my codes read now to see what the issue is.

The issue ended up being the DSC control module. I ordered a refurbished unit with a lifetime warrantee from BBA Reman for much less than the factory wanted. I managed to swap the units and it worked without any programming. No more lights, no more codes.

The shipping is a flat rate, which ended up being a bit of a rip off for me since I am 2 hours away from them, but the rest of the price was right.

HOWEVER, and a BIG however here:

If you have DSC or brake lights, replacing parts to resolve the issue is an expensive fool's errand. The only sensible thing to do is to read the codes and replace parts accordingly. The only reason I replaced the DSC control module is because I had several errors, including a CAN bus error. After consulting my mechanic, I determined it was the DSC module itself.

I hope this post helps you to resolve your brake/DSC error quickly and effectively. Read the codes.
