What display(s) are you using for photo editing?

I was using an HP W2207 for 5 years. I finally broke down and purchased a Dell U2410. The H-IPS screen makes a huge difference over TN. I almost pulled the trigger on an Eizo but couldn't justify the expense. Also purchased an X-rite ColorMunki which will work with wide gamut displays, something my Spyder2 wouldn't do.

I use multiple. Apple Cinema Display (27"), iMac (27") and Macbook Pro Retina (15"), all calibrated and all work fantastic!

Unfortunately I just use my Lenovo laptop's screen. It seems to produce decent enough results for my needs.

I've always found Apple displays to be disgustingly blue.

I might get myself a color calibrator thing for xmas.

I also use my Lenovo W510 which has a built in huey pro calibrator. Its served me well so far.

Nice. I have a T420s, which isn't as hardcore on the display quality, unfortunately. :/

I have never experienced that and have used MANY of Apple monitors, although I always use them after calibration.

Photos of what? a display?

I use the ViewSonic VP series of displays. For the normal consumer, I find them to offer the best image quality, viewing angles, and typically require the least adjustments right out of the box. I've used NEC, LG, Samsung, BenQ, the Dell branded displays- and keep coming back to the ViewSonics.

If you have an unlimited budget, get an Eizo- but you'll never be able to use a regular monitor again.

+1, I always worry that my colors are off...

Dell UltraSharp U2412M

I was going to buy the 2412M but read the 2410 had better color uniformity and an 8 bit panel. Not the best monitor for gaming, but excellent for photography.

I just got a really nice Asus 27" monitor, not sure what the model number is but it's pretty damn new and it's pretty damn nice Perfect colors and resolution!

I have an Apple Display and 15in MBP. The Display is nice but my MBP has always been weird. I guess that in my mind I still prefer the matte screen. Anyway with the Apple Screens, I've calibrated for day and night editing. Then to make sure it's correct I print them. From what I've been told, it's not just the screen calibration but the printer too. I know my screen sucks, but my printer is on point. I've printed in house and at photography stores (Adorama, Kodak, and 100yr old local shop). And every time my photos look great. Actually better.

For printing.. If I know I'm going to print at the local camera shop, I bump up the brightness a little because they print with PC software. I just did a series of events that Adorama pics printed and they were a tad bit brighter. Which is great too. I was expecting that, so I didn't mind.

Long story short. Worry about the output. Where you are going to print, you still need to adjust. Learn how to use your Histogram and adjustments in White Balance.
