How are more taxes solve anything, the judicial system should have done their job in the first place, money has nothing to with it, and are you seriously comparing a car accident to a planned murder? Where do you even come up with these ideas?

I'd be willing to pay more taxes to KILL these animals convicted of 1st degree murder.
Why would I need to pay more? He simply shouldn't have been released. Jails cost to much? Take away all education programs, religious programs, extra food, books, comforts, TV, etc for lifers.
Make them stare at a wall for 70 years until they go nuts and kill themselves

As far as Dave, his homicide was not murder, rather vehicular, criminally negligent, involuntary manslaughter the way I read it.

He should serve time and be criminally and civilly liable.
I don't think he "intended" to kill anyone, hence not murder

I don't care if you call me insensitive or rude, this needs to be talked about and if you'd rather ignore it and pretend it isn't happening then I consider you a fool whom probably shouldn't have the right to vote.

I was lead to believe that we at least in California are expediting releases due to budgetary reasons.

Well when you provide a gym, cable TV, outdoor time, hot food, and the rest of the crap these animals get to enjoy, no wonder they can't make ends meet. Jail should be 4 things....2500 calories of the CHEAPEST food (if you can call it food) money can buy, filling potholes and cleaning trash, 6 hours of sleep, and a shower. Rinse, repeat. Only the libtards think they can "fix these people" and give them all the crap they have. By the way, anyone see the movie Deathrace? The core idea is excellent. Privatize prisons. Let the corporations have a free workforce making products and profiting, then tax them. I assure you, a private corporation isn't going to waste any money.

We do? How did I miss this? Or maybe I just don't remember.

EDIT: I think I remember now. He came around a curve, slid off the road, and hit her while she was walking her dog. Sad story.

And letting a corporation handle our prison system would make a difference?

Is anything NOT for sale to republicans?

Yes. Corporations would save a ton of money by feeding them garbage calories, enough for them to survive and have energy to work. They would be put to work for the community, saving taxpayers MILLIONS. The taxpayers would also save millions because their money will no longer be needed to PAY for these prisons. They would get no time for personal crap and would actually SERVE time, not vacation in a resort, a place where a majority of the population has it better than they did on the outside...3 square meals a day, a warm bed, a hot shower, a library, a gym, TV, etc. A corporation would work the piss out of them and society would benefit.

We typically agree on most issues, but I feel our prison system is a total mess and private companies aren't helping the situation. The reason they aren't helping is because they can't. The problems with our prison system stem from our laws and legal system. We throw people in jail for ridiculous offenses and we have more people in jail here than anywhere else in the world. That's where the problem lays, in the way our society deals with crime. There are often times reports of increased violence and many other issues at private prisons. The fact of the matter is, there are simply too many people in prison here.

1- I don't think I would want to buy something made by such worker-prisoners. BTW- WTF, serious thread derailment.
2- I'm surprised no one brought up this guys letter when he said he just wanted to do what he loved one last time - kill people.
