Importing a motorcycle or two wheeler

So my dad and I were discussing if we should get a two wheeler to drive around in summertime. Would be nice.
My dad was thinking importing something like a Honda Activa http://bikes.pricedekho.com/honda-activa
I, on the other hand, suggested we import a bajaj pulsar 220NS http://www.bajajauto.com/pulsar200ns_index.asp

So anyways, the question: Can I import? What would have to be done to import it? I can work on it myself and I am pretty sure any generic mechanic can align it should the alignment need fixing. So is it possible?

I said more masculine to my dad but yeah that was my same train of thought. Any idea what documentation I would need to import?

Damn. I don't think bajaj has a US division right?

What bikes are similar in design to the bajaj in US?

this makes no sense. just cuz they're way cheaper? way too much effort; the US bike market is amazing (knowing the Canadian and European markets)...you'd be better off buying used here, trust me.

I don't want a used bike though. We would buy new and keep it for a few years. People keep their bikes for a long time. And I really like the pulsar. Even though it is only 220CC

Yeah I still don't understand either, but off the top of my head there's...

Hyosung GT250 (if you want an obscure manufacturer or small displacement)

Honda CB500F (if you want a similar appearance)

As far as the scooter, I really don't understand that... that thing seems like every other scooter on the road.

In comparison to the Bajaj, you're going to want a MV Augusta Brutale...

...a Kawasaki Z1000...

...Triumph Street Triple...

...2013 Suzuki SV650...

...Ducati Monster...

There are tons of options out there.

EDIT: The MV Augusta is something you will probably never see. Ducatis and Triumphs can be had... you just have to look.

Now that I look at the new SV650's, I almost want one. They have more... character than they did before.
