I've read good things about the BMC and the aFe filters.

I agree 100% with Cold M3, I have a BMC for summer use and I run and oem filter for winter dust and grime. From what I've read there really are no good CAI's as they tend to lose power unless you go full boar and get the CSL intake.

thats a good idea i should do the same.
GJ345: i would stick with stock. aftermarket intakes are a small improvement if any. i did get a gain on the dyno from my aFe stage 2 intake. (only 5hp) but i have stock with BMC now since the aFe was causing MAF problems

Another vote for stock.

My vote for stock is due to the fact that it is relatively cheap and very efficient for my purposes.
Macht Schnell is another good alternative for a drop in. I've heard great feedback for the $80 spent.

I've been running the MS filter and elbow now for a couple years with zero issues. Just keep it clean, don't over oil and you'll be fine.

one of the better filters for the stock air box is the BMC filter. BMC is also the brand that is used directly by BMW for the CSL. although that filter is a different shape. so if it's good enough for BMW and their highest performance M3, it should be good enough for you.
