Upgrade from Halogen to Xenon

New member here, would appreciate some advice:

I live in the UK and recently bought a 330Ci 2001 model, pre-facelift with halogen lights.

I am trying to find the best solution to install Xenon lights.
I could do without angel eyes, I could do without bixenon, I just need a reliable solution and easy enough to perform it myself (no soldering pls!!)

Also the solution ideally should be available here in the Europe as ordering from US sites can be expensive through customs etc.

I have done some research on the net and in this forum specifically.

I came across this website: www.carparts-tuning.co.uk

It has plenty of options for my car, but i dont know if they fit, if they are directly plug and play, which one to choose from etc etc as it does not provide enough information.

I am open to other suggestions, I have seen on ebay a retrofit HID kit with new reflectors etc for cars with halogens and is supposed not to mess up with Canbus, and it comes around the price of 120 with delivery included.

Some opinion, guidance will be appreciated.

Thanks

Look around on the forum for someone selling the OEM xenon headlights. This way no fear of not fitting or cheap looking and for sure direct plug and play.

They seem like they would, just as long as your car is pre-facelift

Please do yourself a favour and buy oem lights if possible. At least Depo brand if you insist on after market. I just went through this, bought $300 projectors to save $ and regret it 100%. The cut off is horrible and the adjusters are worse. Trust the forum

Those lights are garbage. Read the link in my sig below for projector retrofit.

Thanks for your input guys.

The problem I have is that the external glass of my current headlamps is not perfect. There are some marks and I was more looking into buying a new set rather than upgrading the current one with HIDs...

If I get a set of OEM xenons with their ballasts are they just plug and play in a car like mine with halogen setup?

No plug and play. You have to code the car so it knows that the headlight are xenon not halogen. There is a different resistance value between the halogens and xenons so the car will think the headlights are out. The other option is to add a bulb out warning canceller into the power line on each xenon. Stop making excuses, just buy new lenses for the stock lights. I haven't done it yet but the retrofit is high up on my list of mods for 2013. You may like the look of the cheaper projectors but you will regret it. Patience will be your best friend in this scenario

You do not have to do any coding if you purchase our canbus xenon kits with your headlight order.
We also sell retrofits.
