Wink Smell of Burning Oil in Cabin - Fixed

Hi Guys,

Finally got the smell of burning oil in the cabin fixed, turned out to be oil leaking out the rear of the engine where the vacuum pump bolts on.

More noticeable on morning starts as oil drips down overnight onto the exhaust manifold then burns off once the engine heats up – got so bad that white smoke billowed out from under of the bonnet!

Required a replacement pump as o-ring seal is integrated and not a serviceable part - $450 plus fitting, could’ve been worse I suppose.

Follow up note:
Some weeks later, same problem but far worse, this time the vacuum pump was faulty leaking oil from the casing – replace FOC plus a bit of labour.
Thanks to the guys at Peak Parramatta!

PS: Nick shouted me some Chinese food and a small drop of spirits to wash it down – now that’s what I call SERVICE.
