"BB" the Bimmer

Just got this 2005 325xi with sports package and manual transmission used last week at 110k miles, and it seems as if it's been well taken care of by the original owner I bought it from.

Here's the day 1 stock photo's:

Honestly, don't do anything you are thinking of....tint, maintenance, upgrade parts (lower it, upgrade brakes, wheels...) and then enjoy it.

Looking pretty clean at the moment. I wouldn't go crazy with the dip though. Kidney grill would be good but don't know about the wheels or the badge.

Looks great man! Definitely Plasti-dip the kidneys and your badge, but I wouldn't do the wheels.

Nice buy. Just a suggestion but if you're going to smoke the taillights you should look into smoked sidemarkers and turn signals as well to match. Quick, relatively cheap, and easy, but creates a uniform look. Good luck

Thanks for all the feedback guys!!! I'll be posting pictures of her progress as it comes along, and I'll try to get some more good exterior pictures posted before I do anything to it for before and after preference.

Car looks clean - GL with your project!

My advice on your sound system is to look into other setups! I've heard the l7 (even had it before), and although it is loud, it sounds like poo. And sony xplod amps are probably among the worst in the amp world. Unless you are getting all of that at a very discounted price, look into different sub/amp setups.

This forum (posted below) used to be popping back in the days, with a lot of information. The site is pretty much dead BUT there is a ton of useful information for quality sound setups. You may need to dig into the archives.

Many more sites will give you info on this, but trust me don't go with that setup. I've had it before and not worth it.

I've had the same setup (including the same amp and speakers) in two previous vehicles and the L7 I have I literally cannot part with, because it hits ALL the notes the way they were intended to sound. And the Sony amp is ideal for not overpowering the sub to make it sound like you mentioned above, but also not underpowering it either. I do appreciate the advice though!

Hey guys, I did a ton of research and revised/finalized my permanent upgrade list for this vehicle. I've edited my first post accordingly. I'll be selling my 5-spoke stock 17" BMW Sports Package wheels when I pick up the 18" M3 wheels if anyone is interested (I'll post more info when the time comes, I've still probably got another 5-10k miles to go on these tires).

So I just ordered some 7500K halogen bulbs for my running lights and headlights. Also matched them with some 3000K halogen bulbs for my fog lights. I took a few pics of my current stock setup during the day, I'll be posting a few more tonight, and ultimately I will post the corresponding after pictures when the halogens come in.

looks great! at 110kmi id look to check the cv boots, valve cover, OFHG, change the diff fluid, transfer case fluid, control arm bushing. and then.. do what youd like cosmetically.

Good to know! Thanks, I'll have them check all of that when they do the oil change at 115k at my local place.

For some reason my camera made the lights look blue when I took the picture, but they're definitely stock yellow as ever...

Alright, subwoofer is in and amp is all hooked up! After messing with the gain and frequency, the system sounds perfect balanced in terms of highs, mids, and lows. Couldn't be more pleased! Now for the wire tuck and making it pretty in the trunk...

I like the consistent progress man!
Just to add to the post, I picked up some new tail lights (white and red instead of the amber) as well as roundels!

So this light comes on every once in a while when I turn the car completely off but goes away if I just turn the key to radio and let it phase out...it also comes on every once in a while, but then goes away the next time I drive it or turn the key again after being parked...should I be concerned at all?
