Project: B**er Garage, Clean Daily Driver build

Past:

91 325i

13' Tacoma

Current:
02 325i
13' FRS + Turbo

I name all my cars stripper names, when I asked my girlfriend what I should name this one, she yelled "b*ner garage!" and now thats unfortunately her name.

By day I am a technician at a speed shop that specializes in building fast Subarus and GTR's. I am the FRS/BRZ specialist at the shop as well. However, my love and passion for cars started with BMW's and that will always stay. I currently drive 60 miles each way to work and am tired of the e30 and racking up miles on the FRS. Its a ways, but I don't mind because I like driving and I get an hour or so to myself each way to contemplate and listen to music

I was cruising craigslist a couple weeks ago and found a seemingly clean e46 for sale from a local german repair shop with the title "mechanic special". Perfect! I called them up on my lunch break, and went to check out the car after work. I saw the car, loved it and made an offer. Talked them down about $1000 and picked the car up that weekend.

Car is a 2 owner 109k 02 325i Orient Blue/Natural Brown(my favorite) Auto(must have for my DD) Car has has full maintenance history and is a previous BMW CPO. No fancy packages or anything. The shop claimed the car NEEDED, a full cooling system and front and rear brakes. It turns out it was just a cracked expansion tank and front brakes. Since I have quite a bit of experience with BMW's, and parts at cost, I went ahead and replaced the entire cooling system as a preventative along with new brakes.

Since this car is supposed to be my nice comfy DD, and my FRS is highly modified, I said I would not mod this car

Well, its my career to mod cars, so naturally, 3 weeks after I bought the car, I scored a set of style 32's for free, from a friend parting out a 540i. I then found two more fronts(17x8's) on ebay and sold the two rear (17x9's) to a local guy that drifts his e36. I want to run a square setup so I can rotate tires.

Then of course, I would need suspension to fit the wheels properly, and since its an e46, some subframe precautions, and so on. Naturally, an order to ECS was put in, and I should have a nice box of parts on my doorstep next week.

Anyways, Im going to make this car into a nice looking little thing and drive it around until I get bored, or let my GF drive it instead of her i3 if she wants.

Ill keep this updated as I move along.

Got by pretty well with my basic "at home" set of tools. Haha

Im not currently running the wheels, but I wanted to test fit them for fun on the stock suspension.

And the weekend car. FRS with SBD turbo kit. Currently on 91oct and 10psi making just under 300whp.

Thanks! Those tails were a very very poor attempt at a red-out job. I just couldn't bring myself to shell out $500 for some Tom's tails at the time.

Bimmer is going to get wheels, suspension, some audio and interior and definitely some clears. For now.
