Halos/ Angel eyes stuck on and flickering in rain after hitting puddle
So I'm in NJ and we got another Nor'eastern tonight, like the third one in two months and my town is still recovering from sandy. Anyway, I've been driving the car all day in the rain down to AC and back about 40 miles each way then I let the car sit for about an hour and I went to drop my buddies off at the bar and the car hydroplaned into a huge puddle luckily I pushed the clutch so it didn't stall and hydrolock and I never really stopped I just kept driving threw it.
Water about 6-10 inches deep, the battery lit on the dash comes up red and then blinks and shuts off then I drive another 100 feet it comes back on I hear a squeal from the alt belt I'm guessing and then it shuts off again and didn't come back on but I only drove like another 50 feet cause I heard something dragging. So my skid plate is dragging my m3 rep bummer is still holdin strong but the little headlight trim on the passenger side popped off so I clipped that back in.
I didn't feel like tying the skid up in the buckets of rain and hail that was coming down so another buddy picked me up. When I shut off the car and locked the doors I noticed the halos didn't shut we wait about 30 seconds and they don't shut off so I go back to the car start it turn the lights on and off again shut the car off lock the doors and I notice the anel eyes or halos are off but as I walk to his truck I watch them turn back on from real dim to brighter and brighter then I have ever seen them before they flickered a couple times and stayed bright for about a minute.
We didn't have time to waste in the pouring the rain so idk if they would have went off after five minutes or whatever so I just went and disconnected the negative terminal off the battery and I'm going to go back tomoro and check it out.
I bought the cars with the angel eyes already installed so I do not know what brand they are or what wires they spliced into. All I know is they have always worked well and been bright. I don't know how they settings work but they have always shut off some time right away and sometimes take a minute or so. I have only had the car about 4 or 5 months abut still never had a problem with them and I'm thinking this most definitely has to do with monster puddle I hit??
Maybe a relay I stuck or something? Idk does anyone have any ideas I'm hoping it dries out over night and when I go to pick it up it acts normal like nothing happen? I'm just concerned they flickered a little bit and that I had to disconnect battery to get them to turn off. Also is the battery light normal after hitting a puddle that big? And what does that mean? Anything I should double check after hitting a puddle like that before I drive it tomoro?
Thanks in advance guys, merry Christmas and happy new year.
