I'm mistaken I thought it was carbon fiber. Thanks for the correction

Btw you never answered my question. I posted several CL ads for M3's with more than 100k for $15k plus.....

Though I guess if you include consumables, such as tires and brakes, maybe? New set of tires say around $700, plus $600 for brakes, but you do those maybe every 2-3 years depending on much you drive a year.

Factor in about 2 to 3 oil changes a year at $80 a pop (assuming you don't DIY), and maybe a failed window regulator, a leaking gasket, etc. Maybe?

My E90 so far in two years and 30,000 miles of driving has cost me....

- New Tires (Ditched the crappy run flats) $700
- One Coil $54
- Major Service w/ Oil Change $254
- Rear Rotors, Pads, Sensor $300
- Just Oil Change x2 $140

That's just under $1500 for 30,000 miles of driving, which is pretty decent. Though only issue was one bad coil up to this point, knock on wood (knocking on the whole tree actually).
Exactly. Some ppl just say random things on here sometimes that make no sense whatsoever lol

SOOOooo I went to take a look at the previously posted car(the blue one). The car looked pretty decent when I walked up on it. The interior was good, not the best but good by my standards. The dealer got me the keys and I started it up. I heard a clunking noise from the bottom of the car..I thought ok the exhaust is rattling w/e. I let the car warm up and got back in it only to find the CEL was on. I hit the gas and there was an obvious engine miss fire and sounded like a subaru. I told the guy that this car is not worth even 11k with the issues it had. The manager of the dealership didnt want to hear it and continually told me that "that means your not interested". After the 4th time he told me that I just walked away from him not saying any thing. I HATE dealerships in NY..most ppl that work at them are A$$h01es!!. Bottom line that car looks like its worth 15k from the pics and in person until you start it, It ended up to be a big POS that has not been taken care of. Im going on Wednesday to look at the red one. Thanks for all of your input.

Good to know! You will go through a bunch before you find the "Right" one and you will know instantly when that is.

I looked at one ZHP at a dealer, and on my short "Pre-Flight" I found the oil not even reading on the dipstick, coolant low, PS fluid not visible and yet the car looked immaculate. I told the dealer he might want to service it prior to me driving but he insisted it was fine. I drove it, just to add to my database of how these cars feel knowing I wasn't interested. On driving the LCABs were so totally shot you could see the wheels clacking around front and back by almost 5 inches! I told him all this and he just said "Eh.. I send back to auction".

Keep at it!
I absolutely LOVE our new ZHP. It is just what we wanted and a nice e46 is truly an awesome car.

PS... there is still a decent one at a Suburu dealer in Prescott AZ that I looked at.
It pissed me off because somebody replaced the windshield and it leaks air.
They don't know what it is...

That sucks man. I never mess with dealers as there's so much BS in between that I'd rather get straight to the point. One thing I'll add is bring a scanner with every inspection you go on (and a jack). If it's a square deal owners should have no problem with a thorough inspection and it shows that you're serious. I bought a BMW scanner 2.1? online for less than $50 and the stuff it shows is pretty in depth compare to Peakes. Even though the CEL isn't on doesn't mean there aren't looming problems inside.

Keep at it man, it's a big investment
