Not my intake... trust me

i've had a long CAI for almost 3 years now. changed the filter and what not when needed. Today though i turned on my car and as i started to drive i get a huge whistling noise while the car is warming up. trust me i know how my intake makes my car whistle when accelerating. But this whistle is about 5 times louder and sounds like my car is cruising around with a Super charger. yeah it sounds pretty badass haha but i know its not normal.... only stays that way while the car is chilly. once shes warmed up and cruised the High ways its normal. just wondering if anyone might know anything.

yup for sure its not my intake boot. sound is coming no where near there. more like around the alternator and the noise only occurs when the gas is pressed. shoot might even be coming from the block for all i know and the car runs no differently. feels perfectly fine just a super loud whistle like a coach blowing on.

Your alternator and intake boots are in practically the same place.

A whistling under acceleration is 99.99% of the time a vacuum leak.
I suppose it could be a pulley going bad. But I doubt it.

if it comes down to being a vacuum leak i have a few advantages. being a aircraft mechanic in the Marine corps i have a nice amount of sealants that i could use from the aircraft onto my intake boot or just buy a new one for $25 lol. lets just hope its the boot for now cus by no means do i want to start piling money into my car again haha.
