Brisbane E46Fanatics Check In Here!

Any preferences on a rough location? Everyone good with something fairly central?

Should we/someone start a new thread for this specific meet? Might get a bit more interest. Rough idea of numbers might dictate the location.

Assuming it will be the evening, 7 or 8pm or something, coffee/donuts doesn't sound too bad!

Hey guys 320i slowmobile reporting in. 24 year old male if you're interested. I'm a club member but have only been to one 'cruise' so far. I don't have any pictures of my current ride but here is my previous 3 series which I enjoyed intensely for the one day I owned it. My new one looks identical except for the engine block is mostly in one piece. Naturally I will be the slowest of the pack.

Got a little bit excited about beemer ownership and took it for a cruise around Mt Cotton that evening with a mate in his merc. Went through a stop sign and t-boned a truck. Walked away without a scratch and insurance paid me out. I'm an advocate if BMW's safety features.

So who is going to make the Brisbane meet thread. We're getting fairly close to the 5/6th of June!!

I have no problem starting but i'm probably seen as a noob and people may not take it seriously.

The 5th suits me best but i can make the 6th also.

Laurita came up with the idea and Declan seems keen so maybe one of you guys should do it!

Where do you guys go in Brisbane for a wheel alignment? There's a Bob Jane right beside my work which is convenient but I'm wary if they'll do it to the exact specification. Should I print the spec for them or maybe I'm not giving them enough credit!?

Also, what's a normal/good price to have this done?

My DSC keeps going off intermittently and I'm hoping its just an alignment issue rather than needing a new sensor. I've had my 330 since March and have no idea how long it has been since they were last aligned.

Cheers.

Cheers John. Any idea of a rough cost?

Also anyone else have an opinion on bringing it to Bob Jane? I won't have to take any time of work if i go there.

Wheel alignments should be around $80-$100. Unless you go to BMW, I did that once and it was $180... The 'free' hot chocolate and wash definitely didn't make up for the premium! Mind you, it was a good alignment

Cheers Declan. i think the alignment on my last car was 70$ at Bob Jane but I think theres a bit more to it with a BMW. I'll go in and have a chat to them and see if they no anything about the correct spec. I assume they'll have a data base.

Also, Declan are you still keen on this meet? So far i think its only me you and Alpine have shown interest. Perhaps we'll leave it til later in June and discuss in the meantime in here before starting a thread.

There's nothing "special" about BMWs regarding wheel alignment - there isn't much that can be adjusted on a standard car anyway. It comes down to front toe (unless you have aftermarket camber/caster plates installed) and rear camber and toe. the Mazda MX-5 has more adjustability.

The price Declan advised is about right.

I'm keen for a meet up and cruise boys - but when I am done with my little project.

Unfortunately I can't tell you when that will be. Having been collected on Monday, my engine has been sitting in a depot in Perth, WA ever since.
