Idle Issue

Hi All,

I recently returned from a 3k round trip on holidays. During the transit, the little 318i went like an absolute dream. Used about 7.9L/100Km for the entire trip. I am really pleased with the result. Used a/c during the day as well, just cool air during the night. Sat on 100-110kph on highway/freeway and didn't miss a bloody beat.

However, on getting home, I noticed that it idles very low (650-800) and struggles when stopped at lights or intersections, sounds like it is going to stop, but doesn't (as of yet).

Can anyone help me out here. I've had a look at the air-filter (still quiet new), sparkies prob need replacing soon but they also look ok, I think it is more of a fuel problem.....

Help or thoughts please

Thanks
Mat

Could be a MAF sensor issue.

Mine started that a couple of months ago. Low idle, then once every week or so it would run rough from start. I had misfire and lean mixture codes.
Mechanic tried new MAF first, didn't work. Ended up being the PCV and intake boot.
