My Ride: 04 330xi 6spd
has ANYONE here done this mod?

330XI 6spd. I would like to do diff swaps to 3.46. But i cant find nyone with an XI that has done this. It is so hard to come by a front differential

thats the setup i'm running at the moment.. but my car came with 3.46, i happened to have swapped in a 330xi 6 speed gearbox. front diffs can be sourced from 325xi automatic on car-part.com... I might be willing to trade you, but shipping might be cost prohibitive

Yes. You have to drop the subframe to get the front diff out. I suggest all new seals and an LSD unit in the rear before the new diffs go in.

How does it perform? Your car is a 330 right? Big difference?

maybe, but since your car is late model and mine is early model I think there will be issues with the front diff, i recon its different

How much work is it to do the 6 speed swap? It seems like a lot of parts to source. I have the ability and the tools, even the electronic wizardry, but it seems cost prohibitive.
