What type of rotors are best for a DD?

My front pads and rotors are gonna start making noise any day now, I inspected them and there is a huge ridge on the outer diameter of the rotor so im thinking of upgrading..

I already know i want Akebono ceramic pads, I have had them on my last 2 bmws and currently on my 540i6 and love them to death.. all had OE rotors

The question is what is the real difference between cross-drilled rotors and slotted rotors? Do they feel different? Will they make my zero dust pads produce more dust? Is the cooling noticeably better? What about the rotors that are drilled and slotted at the same time? Is this a good idea on a DD? I love the way they look but i don't want to sacrifice anything for that look.

If i go OE ill probably go brembo
Are these really the same for half the price?

If i go drilled or slotted im not really sure what to get as there are quite a few options out there. Any recomendations? ECS makes some, Turner, R1.. I would prefer something for under 200 for the front pair.

For DD, there are no benefits to drilled and/or slotted rotors. Just make sure you buy some quality rotors if you get drilled/slotted. You don't want them to crack, though that seems pretty unlikely. I'm sure both the Turner and ECS rotors are nice.

I have Zimmerman rotors and ATE pads that are very good. I would recommend them. My setup was about $300 from BMAParts.com. I imagine they are quite similar to Brembo. You can't really go wrong with Brembo.

Seems like drilled or slotted rotors only really crack when put through track type abuse.. considering this car probably wont be going to the track anytime soon, i think im gonna get a set of drilled. From what i read slotted rotors have a rougher feel while braking, as where drilled rotors feel just like OE blanks. I like the idea of zimmermans with the Z-coat, rust free rotors im sure will look very nice, but how long does that coat actually last?
