OEM xenon problem

I have searched for an answer a few times and have swapped my bulbs left to right per trouble shooting sticky, however, i have a few questions i couldnt find an answer to.

My drivers side light maybe once a year would randomly turn off, after turning the switch off and on it would fire back up just fine. Both lights fire up at the same time and never have a problem turning on.

After a recent 500 mile trip with my lights on I found that each time i would stop for atleast 5 mins the drivers side lamp would shut off, i could do the off and on trick and it would fire up and then off again in a minute or so. If i kept doing the on off trick the delay for it turning it self off again would shorten untill it was almost instantly. I found if i left it off for a few and re-fired it would stay on longer..

here's an interesting part tho.. while driving it wouldnt turn off ever, which makes me think it's a heat issue. any ideas? Iv swapped bulbs and only drove today for about 40 mins and had no problems so im not sure if its a bulb yet. 2001 325xi, looks like factory bulbs..
