Need help figuring out hidden once codes

OK so I can't seem to find info that seems to correspond with my cars(2001 330i) hidden once codes. It goes from 1.0 to 1.7 and that's it? Am I not doing something right? I pushed in trip and turned the key and test comes up and then goes to the list..I know the one directions I found said scroll to 19 and select it to unlock hidden codes but I don't see a #19 LOL..any help would be greatly appreciated

You need a code reader. Can't do it through the OBC.

try it with the car running:

http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showpos...8&postcount=11

Procedure:

1. Start car
2. Hold down left daily miles reset button on cluster until "test" appears
3. Right after test appears immediately start tapping the button until you see test 19 - stop tapping when it is at 19
4. When you leave it on 19, it will start flashing on/off/, on/off
5. tap when it says "off", then it will immediately go back to 0 (now they are all unlocked). Immediately when you see 0 start clicking until you get to test 7. Stop tapping when it is at 7
6. This readout will be a digital display of your actual coolant temp, in degrees Celsius. it should be between 88-98 at operating temp.

There are also You Tube videos out there showing how to do this.
This forum has a complete list of the various display numbers somewhere, try searching for "easter eggs".

OK so used this to check my battery voltage and while when the car is off it reads 12.43v the obc shows between 14.3 down to 13.5 and isn't steady by no means..would this indicate my voltage regulator like I've been suspecting?

My remanned alt is steady between 13.9 and 14V.

Based on some recent threads, I'd say your VR has an issue. The bosch remanned is interchangeable with the valeo, if that's what you have...if you just replace the entire alt...which is very easy to do. On the valeo, I'm not sure you can replace the VR so easily...IDK.

I will be calling the dealer they serviced the car its entire life to see what they say..thanks for all the help

realoem will list the alt you need...I'm sure it's a 120-amp...and sure the Bosch reman will fit. If you have a relationship with a shop, maybe it can order it from WorldPac for you?

There are PNs for the VRs at realoem.com too...but as I said, if valeo, not sure you can replace the VR. I think maybe only earlier e46s had valeos, but IDK.

In any case, the extra price for a reman covers your bases in case the bearings are going on the alt...though mine just went and it was original...so they evidently hold up pretty well!

From the bottom, you might be able to see the tag on alt and get makers mark...but again, the bosch's work for whatever you have there...at least mine did.
