Coil over install

Hey anyone do coil over install in NJ? I am putting in some new ones and would much rather watch someone do it to learn then pay a shop.. Pm me with how much you'll charge I'm in Middletown NJ can do it in my garage or your choosing. LMK...

Ill be getting KW V2s in two weeks. I'd need to set up a day where I can get the install done and then ship out my stock sport suspension the next day. Ill be reusing top mounts and bolts

Ok that's perfect. V2's are great you're gonna love them.

You're going to need adjustable end-links as well.

What's a good brand of end links? And where should I get them? Sorry I'm that oblivious to suspension installs.. Engine,electric, hardware I do all myself, spring force rubs me the wrong way

He shouldn't need adjustable ones unless he's going crazy low.
I'm pretty low with no gap all around and I run the stock length end links.

Anything lower than 1.5" will put extra stress on oem sized links. I've had them snap on me in the past.

Why would it put extra stress on them? There shouldn't be any preload on them at all. So a car sitting still shouldn't be putting any force on them.

If you do want adjustable end links, go for the Bimmerworld ones. I got the E36 adjustable ones (e36 are lower than e46) but e46 adjustable ones will go lower than what you have now. I only went e36 because I needed to shortest as possible.

You are absolutely right about no preload.

But on KW's (and most coils for that matter) the endlink housing on the strut is lower than the endlink housing on an oem strut. Therefore needing a shorter endlink.

Yes he is going to need shorter endlinks. Since you are there, you might as well get; front tower reinforcement plates, new front & rear shock mounts.

Wow guys, thanks for all this info!! Ill order the Bimmerworld ones and def the reinforcement parts. Trying tithe right, and do it once. Plus learn a bunch in the process

Order the e46 ones they'll do fine. And only the front's fine.
