Help with interior LEDs
Hey everybody, I just plugged in a single LED into pins 2 and 3 of the prewiring for the BMW cell phone. It burnt red, and then went out with a little puff of smoke. Did I mix up negative and positive, or do I need a resistor. It burnt out when I turned the headlights on. I'm looking to add some more console lights. Is this safe for the electrical system? Sorry for all the noob questions but I really need some advice here.

Ok everybody, I just got some great LEDs, with inline resistors on footlong leads. They work but what would happen if the red wire touches constant brown ground?
