Driver's side door

So I adjusted the driver's side door handle from the side of the door in hopes of making it open easier/smoother, and my fears have pretty much all come to life. Instead of opening easier, the door will not open at all from the outside - inside works just fine. Does anyone have any insight on what happens if you adjusted the little bolt too much or in the wrong direction? I'd love to be able to get this one fixed myself, but all of the info I've dug up on the Internet is either conflicting or is caused by other issues.

OK, dumb question, but why doesn't adjusting it back the other way work?

Don't be an ass. I'm trying to "contribute" but I need to know why turning it the other way is not working. What happens when you do that, what are the symptoms, does it not change anything so maybe it's a completely different adjustment you should be looking at?

When turned the correct way nothing happens. The handle has tension and it is easy to pull, it just does nothing. When I pull the handle, the allen head looks like something is pulling it. So I have no idea. I know I'll need to get inside the door at the very minimum, just looking for some ideas on what could have happened.
