Uh oh another oil debate.
RP gets very mixed reviews, some people love it while others hate it. Personally I stick with Mobil1 0W40. It's LL-01 approved.

I've sworn off Mobil 1 0-40 in favor of Syntec 5-40 or 5-50. Pass.

Chris, do you get any different performance or better cold starts with the 0w-40? I just did a change to Mobil1 5w-30, but based on your and a few other members' praises, I almost used 0w. Knowing what I know about oil, there shouldn't be too much difference, but what does your seat-of-the-pants-o-meter notice? I'm not so far north of you so our climates should be the same.

I use RP 10w30 in the engine and RP Synchromax in the tranny.
I will use nothing else but Royal Purple |

I've seen the threads...Well I figure my 5w's ok, considering I'm not going to be going 15xxx miles between oil changes anymore. My "Long Life" won't be so long now. |
