SAFE ACT --> New York :::: Let this be a lesson folks...don't let this happen to you

For the first time tonight, I am very seriously considering the possibility I may have to sell my childhood home. I'm absolutely gutted. The state of New York has now reached a level of stupidity and downright ridiculousness that i may have to leave. For 30 years, my family's property has been taxed at ridiculous rates (between $10,000 and $44,000 a year) and we have been denied any opportunity to vote in local or state elections. Taxation without representation. And this is the last straw I think...my love for the property has been destroyed by the realities of ownership and living there now.

I give you the most restrictive gun law in the country. And it will pass tomorrow morning easily because people are complete morons. I'm disgusted, gutted, and have this unbelievable feeling of hopelessness.

http://news.yahoo.com/ny-poised-1st-...181248937.html

Highlights include:

- 7 round maximum ammunition capacity (anything over that must be sold out of state or it's a crime and that includes pre-ban mags from the first AWB)

- All ammunition must be sold by a licensed dealer. A background check to purchase it must be performed, it will be recorded, and supposedly deleted after a year.

- Failure to report stolen ammunition within 24 hours is a crime. Same goes for guns

- No Internet sales of assault weapons. Here, they are essentially regulating interstate commerce.

- Mandatory registration of all assault weapons.

- Evil features element goes down to 1.

Could go on, but I'm still just absolutely stunned. How could they be so damn stupid? How coud citizens let this happen? How in the **** ws I not allowed to vote to keep these assholes out?!

I'm actually making a list...there's a chance I'll have to remove my 30-30 to FL because I think it holds more than 7 rounds in it with the magazine tube loaded up. All the family pistols are worthless and would require new mags. I can't even shoot my bolt .22 up there at the moment because the magazine size is too big and don't make a smaller one for it.

Jesus...people, do not let this happen to either your state or the country. Absolutely mind-boggling

Sucks to hear, but it is what the mindless knee jerk reactors are looking for.

Yep just found out. My lever action Winchester Model 94 is now an assault weapon. Unbelievable.

EDIT: Upon closer inspection, it exempts lever actions. Still, probably going to pull most of my weapons and ammo out of there ASAP. Only thing I'll leave there is a pump 870 and I'll only bring my over-under with me for skeet/trap. The sad thing is that I stand no chance of defending that house against intruders now with that weapon. At around 9000-11000 square feet of 1840s greatness, it's too large with too many accesses, windows, and stairs to effectively defend with the shotgun. They've screwed me with this one...glad I didnt invest in the pre-ban AR I was going to build

New York is one of the worst states to ever be in. I could never live there. Absolutely ridiculous. It's actually managed to get worse than California.

Even a Ruger 10-22 for plinking would be illegal, as it holds 10 rounds.

This is EXACTLY why the 2nd Amendment was put in place.
To resist against a tyrannical government.

We get closer every day. Don't think what is happening in NY can't happen in your state. NY is about to disarm law abiding citizens and with a stroke of a pen make millions of gun owners into instant criminals

This is not about safety. This is about disarming you while they hide behind the protection of armed security guards.

I'm really happy I moved out of that sh!thole of a state. NJ isn't much better but I have to take baby steps. I truly feel bad for people of NY. The state has gone to complete sh!t.

IL is pretty backward but when it comes to AR15s we've been left more or less untouched. we got 30rd mags, no bullet button or awb of any kind. NFA stuff is restricted tho which is a bummer.

Chicago on the other hand IS full retard. no arguments there.
