Vanos Seal Question

my ride: 2002 325xi

got a question about vanos upgrade. i just ordered the double vanos seal kit from www.beisansystems.com/images/bs001_large.jpg i doing this mod pretty much because i have the valve cover off and want to do this as preventative maintenance. there is no rattle from the vanos now should i be worried about a rattle after the new seals are in and just do the rattle kit while im in there or is this unnessecary id hate to do it later when everything is done. if someone can chime in that has experienced this before id appreciate it.

maintenance done so far:

bosch coils packs
bosch plug
hamman thermostat
mahle fuel filter
radiator
behr expansion tank
upper and lower radiator hoses

not done yet:

elring vcg
vanos gasket
vanos seals
vanos oil line with crush washers

325's are not prone to the vanos rattle, you can do it for peace of mind but not really necessary. You can most likely do the seals and be done. Up to you if you want to do it, since you're in there. Otherwise you can just leave it be.

I only changed seals at 46k. I didn't have the rattle then. I'm at 98k today and I still don't have the rattle. I also have a 325. As explained by Raj, the 325s aren't prone to the rattle issue.

I didn't have a rattle, but it might solve other issues for you anyway. For example, the powerband feels a lot smoother now that I have done the seals.
