Any real estate agents?

Hi, I'm starting a BC real estate program and was wondering if anyone has any advice for me. I've always been into real estate. Told myself after New Years I would change my career path. 2 year apprentice glazier. I hated the work but the money was decent for my age. Looking for something more professional. Thanks in advance.

There is no money in real estate unless you got contacts

There is way way too many real estate agents out there

Most people sell privately these days to save $20,000 in commissions

whats wrong with being a glazier? you actually add value unlike brokers

I have the training program master agent thing that has all the test so that you can do multiple tests and learn without spending asimgle dme on traininf course. pm me you email or ill post on here for all. My wife gor her liscense in three months using this.


well I dont know if you already have a liscense but if you dont and if canada is like the US this will help.

Its like any other sales gig. You get out of it what you put in. Make sure you have enough money in the bank to last you 6-12 months. A decent car for driving clients around. Join a respectable brokerage that wont jam you for insane desk fees. Live and breathe real estate and always be networking. ABC = Always Be Closing.

Remember, 10% of the people make 90% of the money.

A lot of it will depend on who you know. I know of a lot of agents who market and advertise all over the place but can't get any business. I do no marketing whatsoever and I closed 24 transactions last year. I just get random phone calls from clients that are referred from other people I know or previous clients. Just treat your clients good and the referrals will keep coming.

Can I close loans for you?

Construction isn't my gig. I like dressing nice and working with people. Plus the winter work is horrible

My m3 is paid for and ill be moving back into my dads for the first while until I start seeing some income. Still working part time until finished my course.

I work for a brokerage company, doing the marketing and webdesign etc.

I see agents come and go. Regular agents avg 3 sales a year if they're even lucky, and with all the fees and commission splits etc, there is not a whole lot to take home. The broker is the one who's racking in the money.

Just make sure you're doing real estate on the side with a backup plan. Most agent never makes it and end up getting a 9-5 job instead.

+1 Couldn't have said it better myself. You take care of your clients and they will take care of you (with referrals). I did 17 transactions last year without spending one penny of advertising/marketing.

I always try, but either they were cash buyers (9 of them) or already had their mortgage guys (from asian banks). I refer you and another lender to anyone who is looking for a lender referral.

Most of the buyers in Irvine are asian (40%+ of all sales in Irvine are all cash)... The ones that were financing either went with the asian bank lender or went with the home builder's lender. If not for the new homes, I would have only sold 10 properties last year.
