Refinished my friend's 10/22

Friend of mine scored a 10/22 last week, but the stock was all scratched up. He went to the store to buy a new one, but they were out of stock. A customer overheard him ask for one, and told him he has one for sale. So...took the stocker....

Stripped the stain and gave it a light sand to get it bare....

Then gave it a gentle rubbing of 10 coats of linseed oil...

We were quite pleased with the results. I'm going to pick one up myself tomorrow

Im a huge fan on light wood. Car dashboard trim, rifles, etc. It's not the best wood in the world as far as grain, but it's still pretty friggin sweet.

We didn't seal it though. I wasn't sure if you can seal over linseed oil.

No, but we should have. It would have been a flawless finish rather than a 8 out of 10.
