Conceal Carry Gun

What do you guys carry and why?

I'm looking to get a Kahr PM9. I like the size and simplicity of it. Any experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I have a Kahr CM9 and a Glock 23 that I use for carrying. The CM9 is just a slightly less machined version of the PM9 and ships with one less mag for $200 less. I have been very happy with it so far.

I also had a Ruger LCP - I liked the size of it a lot since I encountered no circumstances where I couldn't carry, but I didn't have faith in the .380 round itself, which is why I traded it in toward a 9mm (CM9).

As for why I carry, I don't rely on anyone but myself to protect me / my family. All you have to do is watch the news to know that there are plenty of reasons to carry.

Full size or compact? I'm 5'10, 170 and carrying the full size can be a little more taxing. It definitely prints if you're not careful. My mtac for it broke, and I'm waiting in a bravo concealment holster. It slots in between a glock 19 & 17 size wise. If I had more accessories and mags for my M&p it would probably find its way to the front of the carry rotation

Taurus Millennium 9mm. I love the gun, but at times it is a little to wide for my tastes. I will be buying a glock 19 at some point this year. I don't really care for the ruger 9mm simply because it slings the shell casing at you and anyone behind you. It is however a very very accurate gun.

That is my biggest problem. I wanted something between a 26 and a 19 or 19 size. Although I am much bigger than you (6'0 over 300), I don't want to carry full size.

I have not even shot one yet, so who knows. I thought I had to have a Sheild until I grabbed it. Just too skinny for me.

Maybe I will just do a NY trigger job and stay with Glock.

I carry a Kahr CM9 and I love it. The gun is very comfortable and easy to shoot. The only thing to get used to is placing your pinky under the mag while shooting, which I was able to adapt to pretty easily. I have a 7 round magazine that has a pinky extension, but I am unable to pocket carry with this mag. I had one failure to feed the first time I shot the gun, but no problems since...I trust it.

If I had to make a complaint, I don't fully love the trigger...it can be difficult to stage. I don't think this would be much of a concern in a life/death self defense scenario though...and it's not nearly as bad as the trigger on some of the comparable guns like the LC9.

How about adding a Pearce pinky mag extension to the mag on a G26? That will give a a slightly larger grip plus an additional round.

I already use a glock 12 factory mag.

Glock 19 with a 33 round mag. Open carry. Hopefully people don't get too scared by it.

My advice to you: try before you buy. The M&P feels great in hand, soaks up recoil amazingly well....but the trigger is an absolute nightmare. I have the APEX DCAEK kit in it, and it's still worse than a stock Glock trigger.
