How to get an internship?

Hey I'm kind of getting the shaft at my current place of employment. I'm interested in finding an internship somewhere that could train me to actually do something useful, but the google search sucks. Turns up internships to no name companies and I can't tell if any of them are legit. My colleges website is no help either, wtf they are supposed to be the ones coming to my aide right? Either way If anyone has any suggestions or resources please share them, thanks!

Ask your family, family friends, etc. about internship opportunities.

what are you studying and where you you going to school.

you are a little late in the game. most interns are most likely starting at work this week and secured their internships months ago.

Where are you located and what are you trying to do.

At least try and narrow things down to Engineering, Sales, Construction, etc...

How to get an internship?

Your college should have a Career Center. Take your resume and have the critique it and tidy it up. Then they will show you how to post it on websites such as indeed, dice etc. what's your major?

^217!

If you're looking a summer internship it's already going to be June. Those interns got offers a month ago.

You're late. Most companies started their interns two weeks ago for the Summer. I would use your university's career services center. If you're not in school then why are you looking for an internship? Go find a real job.

For this summer? That's tough at this stage.

Shoot for the close network. Friends and relatives. It's how the world works.

Not this summer necessarily, anytime. I have a general arts associates degree currently. I'm going for business administration and Human resource management as well. I go to wake tech CC, which basically leaves me with a worse starting point than E46F. I Live in the Raleigh NC area.

Think about what kind of job you want when you graduate. Right now your education goals aren't indicating anything specific. It sounds like you are targeting "business" which is far too general IMHO. Your associates degree is worthless and not worth mentioning, so focus on making your next two years worthwhile to develop the most profitable product you can "sell" to employers upon graduation. I'd consider revising your major to something more marketable, but only you know what interests you.

You've got the right idea with obtaining internship experience, but you need to have a contact plan to leverage everyone you can in your network. The career center at your school is key since they probably are tied to employers who are interested in students from your campus. Whatever internship you can get for the summer is going to suck and you'll be making copies and coffee, so target after the summer to start something meaningful if you're being realistic.
