Think of it this way: 18 divided by 120, = $0.15 a mile on gas alone (not counting insurance, depreciation, wear-and-tear, etc.). Picture your window rolled down, and every time you drive a mile, you're tossing a dime and a nickel out the window. At sixty miles an hour, you're tossing $9 out the window every hour. Perhaps your allowance will cover this, or your part-time job pays more than $9 an hour. Good for you! Otherwise, aimless burning of precious fossil fuels may not be the best financial idea ever...

Having said all that, however, I must admit I drive often and aimlessly myself, just for the sheer joy of being on the road in a fun vehicle, so don't take this to mean I disapprove of your for-the-hell-of-it drives...

I drove a 1990 Mustang GT. 302 FTW. Well not in the vic. I had a 91 and it was slow as balls.

best excuse EVER. It's even better when your parents and your friends parents don't know each other.

I go out on drives once in a while to clear things up in my mind as well. Usually I take a trip on the highway, listen to some music and go back home.

If you're into photography and have a good camera just search for some good spots by you and take some pics.

I'm 17 so I can't move out just yet. And I do pay for everything myself..well not at the moment since I tore my acl and I'm outta work but I pay for my own stuff 90% of the time. Im not one of those kids who gets everything from mommy and daddy I paid for both my cars and my bike myself. And pay my own insurance (except my last payment was my birthday gift)

what do you do?

I work at a canoe rental place..one of the drivers and loaders/unloaders..and I plow snow for one of the local property management companies.
