What do these lights mean???????

My alternator went out and I just replaced it and these two red lights rights next to the trunk diagram came on. they sorta look like the bright lights symbol but theyre red. Anybody know what they mean?

Check your lights in the back.

They're all working. I'm at a loss.

they can be triggered by the trunk lights too, and i believe the reverse lights, check ALL of them.
Some LED license plate lights will trip em even tho they work.

And the button to open the trunk isn't working either

Check your fuses.

it means your thrusters went out.

Check the wiring harness going to the trunk. You may have some abraded wires.

yep, def the wiring... as dude said, check where it bends at the trunk. hinges.

Just checked the wiring an that's all good. Now which fuse would control all that. I keep hearing 37 Is that a big red fuse?

If a fuse blew, then it blew for a reason. That would indicate shorted wiring. The trunk wiring breaking is a common problem. You may have to buy a multimeter to see where the power is stopping or shorting.

See my 'elephant trunk' thread. It's a broken wire...you can't see it because it broke inside the insulation.

I explain how to get to the wires easily and repair with inline slice, solder, shrink tubing. Have an soldering iron with at least 40W...easy repair.

Ok no fuses are blown. Used a multimeter and there's power getting to the license plate lights. And where the wires are wired through the hinge of the trunk are good except two, they're still connected but the plastic covering the wire is broke and some wire is exposed. There's also a connection that's near the battery that's not connected and I can't figure where it would go. Ugghhgh

connection near battery is nothing...used for shipping only.

You have to pull the wires apart to find the broken ones...yank from top and bottom and try to break each wire in the loom apart. Repair as needed.

Don't know how the insulation on the wires is broken, but you're looking for broken wires inside insulation. The wires that break when you yank are your problem.

There's also a reversing light, you know...and the failed trunk latch...also a broken wire. I'll even give you a 99% guarantee. If it doesn't fix your issue, I'll refund 99% of the cost!

Wrap the abraded wires tightly with electrical tape and see if it helps your problem.

What voltage should be reaching the lights. 12 or 6?

12, lol. Everything in the car, save a few of the engine sensors, runs on 12V. Those sensors will be 5v.

Well there's only 6 getting to the lights. I guess I'll follow the wire. It's either that or the housing.
