Ventus evo v12 vs Ecsta LE Sport

Both are max performance summer tires. For the sizes I want, I'm looking at 750 shipped for ventus vs 669 shipped for ecsta. My main concern was road noise and comfort. Does the 80 difference justify getting the ecsta over the ventus or would most of you spend the extra for ventus?

And if anyone has either of these tires and can chime in about road noise and comfort it would help a lot as well.

I have the Ventus on my rears and they seem like a decent tire. Except in snow, but thats my fault for being cheap and not having snow tires -__-

I got the Ecstas this past summer for mine, and they seem pretty decent. They seem to be more road-surface dependent when it comes to noise. For some reason, some roads I drive on seem to be louder than others, but others it's pretty quiet, certainly not obnoxious. Maybe a TAD more then my Goodyear all-seasons on my winter wheels. Comfort-wise, again, I'm coming from new all-seasons on 16"s, to the Ecsta 17"s so I can't really compare too much. But they've served me well, for the last 5k miles I've had them.

Yeah all tires are subject to change to the type of road surface. Hmmm

Wait for TireRack to chime in on Tuesday. Or e-mail/call them.

I found the v12s to be much quieter than the ecstas. Although I went from a 19" ecsta to 18s for the v12s.

Thanks for all the feedback. I was forwarded the opportunity to get continental extreme contact DW's cheaper than both the v12s and ecstas so sure enough, I'm going with that!

Having owned a set of Hankooks I would definitely recommend them, but DWes are also a great option for you.
