Random fun activities thread
What are some new fun things you guys have been doing? I'm all about trying new sh1t and want to get into more things just to have fun. I have a ton of friends that are down to do things but these lumps can never think of sh1t so I have to.
Some new things I've tried lately were indoor rock climbing and shooting my friends guns at the range (do not make this political). I'm just looking for some ideas for the gf and I and friends. I know it may be a little more difficult because of the cold weather but I'll keep things in mind for the warmer months. |

We talked about that. Honestly, it scares the crap out of me.
Brewing beer sounds fun too. Have you done it? Last edited by DylloS; 01-21-2013 at 09:59 AM. |

Weekend trips to nearby places (you seem to have the hang of that, if FB is an indicator, lol)
The wife and I were into playing tennis when it was warmer out I'll go trail biking when it's warmer, too. Paintball is always a nice excuse to shoot your friends and not get in trouble In the same vein as going to the range to kill some paper, you could find a gun club, or something similar, to go kill some clay pigeons.

I just bottled my first batch last week, so I have to wait until friday before it's ready to drink. My friends have been doing it for years though and it's a lot of fun. It's a lot like cooking (obviously) so you get to be creative with the ingredients but you end up with beer instead of food. And you seriously need to go skydiving too, easily one of the most exciting things I've done. I took my mom for her 60th birthday; if she can do it then you have no reason not to.

more fun than getting the equipment for brewing beer yourself is to find a microbrewery near you that offers this. you get to sample different beers while brewing (watching water boil, stirring, sitting around).

Try meetup.com.
Not cuz you need the friends, but cuz there are literally zillions of activities and interests listed there. Even if you don't find a group you want to join, the kinds of things the meetup groups in your area are organizing may give you a bunch of ideas for stuff to do.

Trapeze lesson/class.
Did it on pier 40 in NYC. Tons of fun and a pretty decent workout if you put effort into it.

Recreational Kayaking - Great way to be outdoors and have a fun time. I bought two right off the bat so I'd be able to have a friend or the gf go with.
Crash open houses on Sundays. Walk around acting so surprised they got the blood stains cleaned up from the masacre that took place there. Hiking Brew Pubs Take a cooking class together

Snowboarding or skiing.
Honestly one of the funnest things I do, nothing like bombing down a mountain. Only drawback is its a pretty expensive hobby. Golf for the summer time, I think you've said the past you hate golf, but it is a lot of fun. Getting outside for a few hours at a beautiful place and using both your mind and body. For brewing beer, see if there is a place near you where you can go and brew your own stuff, you and up with quality beer and its supposed to be a blast. Someplace like this. http://www.incredibrew.com/

Also, when it gets warmer give Frisbee golf a try. I've only played once but it was a blast.

I've actually been going indoor rock climbing over the last couple of months and it's awesome. Just went to supercross this weekend which is cheap and a good time. Gonna reserve a camping spot at the beach for the spring. Going on a dirtbike/camping trip in a couple weeks.
