Alignment?
Do you get an alignment when switching from a summer setup to your winter?
Running summer: 18x8.5 et40 (front) & 18x9.5 et45 (rear) Winter: 17x8 (fronts & rears) |

I would check the summer tires when they come off to determine if there is any strange wear pattern going on. If they look good, just put the winters on.

+1 above
This year when I switched to winters, a check of my summers showed they were worn poorly and the tread depth was at the limit. My winter tires are near new with no unusual wear patterns. The alignment with the winters on is clearly off. My plan is to completely overhaul the suspension this spring and then get an alignment with a new set of summer tires. |

While it may not be necessary, there are indications that you could need one based on your tirewear.

Thanks for the advice. I just picked up new summers and winters so I wanted to be sure.

So I went to dealership and looks like my rear lower control arms are slightly bent and I should get new ones before doing the alignment.
My suspension is good otherwise but I want to do a coilover kit (or maybe koni's & springs) soon. Should I get the adjustable kind now with my OEM zhp suspension? Or will the OEM work fine with a kit in the near future? Comments are appreciated. |
