Coils or springs

Looking to lower my e46 convertible. Was wondering what's best way to do it and if anyone knows a good place to buy them.

Thanks rich

Coilovers is the easy answer. They are adjustable (if you buy the right kind), and can handle auto-x, track better. HOWEVER, if you don't need adjust-ability, don't auto-x (or not a ton), don't track, coilovers can be overkill as far as budget. You can get your car lower, improve handling, and still have a great ride with a spring/shock combination and easily save $500 or more for other mods. Both are the right answer, it just depends on your usage, needs, budget. Check out places like Turner Motorsports for example, which sells both. I went with an H&R Cup Kit.

Totally depends what you're trying to go for I suppose. Springs will only offer so much and wouldn't be smart if you have mileage on your OEM shocks.
I'm on Tein S-Techs which are the lowest springs you can get but I am awaiting my BC Coilovers to come in. Springs were great but there just isnt any adjust-ability. But if you're just looking for a modest to aggressive drop then springs would definitely be the quick and cheap-er solution

Car as it sits currently on the S-Techs with 19s

The rear of our verts sit a tad but lower than the coupes due to our electric tops.
I rub on springs with shaved fenders and 245/35s in the rear =(

I had the stock sport suspension and went with the H&R Cup kit. I love that thing. Perfect everything. I even took it on a cross country trip about 6 months ago. Thats her on my signature pic on the Pacific coast highway. I was loving the comfort and ride through the whole trip; hills, canyon roads and curvy and tight turns.

H&R Sport Springs... Bilstein Struts....Make sure you get a low profile jack or keep some wood in your car when you do get it lowered....
