06 Fuel Injector, Cyl #1 but car runs fine
Maybe someone has an idea of what's going on here..
I use the Bavarian Autosport Fault Code Reader/ Reset Tool - OBDII on an 01 330I which gives out the 06 Fuel Injector, Cyl #1 code. Car runs great but I just wanted to get that annoying check engine out of my face. I went with the easy fixes first, and after each step I reset the codes but would still get the 06 Fuel Injector, Cyl #1 failure. 1) swapped cyl1 & cyl2 coil packs 2) swapped cyl1 & cyl2 spark plugs ..still fails ok so I removed my injectors to swap those but when I saw that they were all pretty filthy looking, I decided I might as well have them professionally cleaned & rebuilt while I already had them off and it would be the first time ever being cleaned. Injectors came back looking like new and after seeing the before and after stats (pressure, spray angle, atomization etc..) I was glad I did! They were restored from poor/average condition to factory specs and with a 1% tolerance of each other. My car feels stronger & I definitely got a significant boost in mpg. with that said... I still get the 06 Fuel Injector, Cyl #1 failure |

my car had the service engine light on for a year then the smog air pump started making noises, also said I was getting insufficient air of something on the code. replaced smog air pump which doesnt make sense now that I have headers and 0/4 sensors and the car has driven 200 miles that way...lol
