pricing/appraisal help

found a decent deal on a local AR

BUSHMASTER XM-15 E2S, a few 100 rds through, with case and over 500 rds of .223.

What would you pay for this?

Nothing. It's a Bushmaster.

ETA: Sorry, that original response was probably a little snide. Bushmasters are terrible. I have been in classes where they just continue to jam regardless of the ammunition type, magazine type, or being bathed in lubricant. If you are trying to buy an AR just to have an AR, or shoot a few rounds at the range, then I guess it's fine.

If you are buying an AR to possibly defend your life or your liberty then I would look elsewhere.

Ordinarily I wouldn't pay over $800 for that if I didn't already have an AR, but I'm sure the price will be closer to $1200+ given the recent trends.

That being said, since I know a little more about ARs now, I wouldn't select a Bushmaster if I were spending the money to begin with. For a few hundred more you could probably get a Colt or grab a quality lower with all of the parts you want to make a very good rifle.
