.::FS - Simota CF Intake (3.0" Intake)::.

For sale is a Simota CF Intake that isn't made for the E46, but will fit.

It'll likely look a bit small compared to the Simota or Gruppe M intakes made specifically for the E46, but as those are either big bucks or hard to come by, this can be a cheap alternative.

The intake is like new, never used but is out of it's box and been moved around the house being stored, so it might have some light evidence of being handled, but nothing worth noting.

Will come with a 3.0" to 3.5" adapter attached, so it'll fit 330s, but if you need the 3.0" to 3.0" coupler, you'll need to pick one up.

The filters features are:

- Filter housing is 100% hand layed carbon fiber
- Strong galvanised steal mesh bright epoxy resin coated
- 3D precision weaving with deep pleats 20% increase filter area
- One piece urethane base that is durable and reduces vibration
- High flow filter element with built-in extreme velocity stack
- The filter is dry (not oiled), cleanable and reusable

Asking $155 SHIPPED to the lower 48.

Let me know if you have any questions.

If memory serves me correct;

323/325/328 all have the 3.0" MAF inlet
330 has a 3.5" inlet

So, you'd need to pick up a 3.0" to 3.0" coupler, but it'd work.

If its not made for the e46, then how does it "fit"? Just curious.

The intake tube is just a bit over 3" diameter, where as the E46 intake is 3.0" dead. I had a 3" to 3.5" coupler that I put on, had to heat it up some in warm water and stretch it over, its a tight fit, but it's doable (you can see the coupler stretched some in the first photo). Now, why would one want to buy a intake where you had to stretch the coupler over it to make it fit? Price difference...figured someone would want it for the price comparison.

As far as the size of the shroud surround goes, here are a few pictures to show a comparison: The one for sale is on the left, while the E46 specific one is on the right (my Z4 is pictured, not an E46).
