So I am very curious about the reversed headers- how do you plan on routing the exhaust?

engine management

I'm going to use cjponyparts.com stand alone efi engine harness, its a little pricy but I can use stock ecu and avoid a wiring nightmare

exhaust

For the exhaust I'm on the fence. I'm leaning towards the one with the exhaust wrap

Nice! My little 3 yr old bugger is always hanging in the garage. He managed to jam a 1/4 ratchet in between my wife's radiator and AC cooler last week "trying to help daddy." Had to get the old Audi into service mode in order to fish it out. Gotta love the kids!

If those are the stock E7's, get em to a machine shop ASAP. I have a set of Thumper E7 heads (1.94in/1.60ex) in my pushrod 5.0 that would wake that mother up. They are in my 306ci in my F150 4x4. Truck made 228rwhp at 180,000 miles with an E4OD AT and transfer case (+25% driveline reduction) on the E7's with the stock MAF and OE Ford tune.

http://www.hunterstyle.com/thumper/

-T56?
-What clutch?

Love the build. I grew up a blue oval junky. My father was a Chevrolet mechanic and only drove Fords. Go figure.

SBF + BMW = WIN!

Mike

edit: Thumper E7's will bolt right up to a stock bottom end. If you want to keep the cam, get the 1.7 ratio rocker arms and break the tires loose.

T-5 with a king cobra clutch. Holding out on engine mods until I get it driving and work the bugs out. Definitely going to use thumper tho

I am excited about this.
I am a ford ranger fan, actually I just bought a 1996 ranger last month for a second car. This will eventually get the ol 302 swap as it is the most plug and play swap ever.
302 is a fine engine. Not too common to find in the BMW's but none the less cheap, plentiful, upgradable, and reliable. Hard to go wrong with that.

I would have loved to go with a ls1 or vortech engine but let's face it I make 11 dollars an hour. For the price of the drive train I'm doing my whole 302 swap with all new parts. And there's just something about that mustang sound and cheap performance
