Sold ex gf's sh!t..legal threats?
A friend of mine recently sold his cheating ex gf's snowboard and bicycle, had plenty of opportunities to pick it up but never came, it's been months...his name is on the lease..this bish is saying she will "explore legal options." Am I right in saying to him that she is bat shiit crazy? There's no written agreement on this stuff (besides the lease which is in his name.)

If it's over $500 in value it's a felony, under $500 it's a misdemeanor. Also depends on how much she can spend on a lawyer.

Unless she has receipts in her name I don't see it happening. Even then...
I also doubt her having the real motivation to talk with more than one lawyer that will give her the time of day without immediate compensation or BJ.

No idea, to go to the trouble of getting a lawyer over a fvcking snowboard and bike... how would one even prove it was in fact sold if it was done via cash to a random person? Maybe they just got lost...

I got a buddy who's property backs up to reservoir which is deemed no fishing because its a drinking water reservoir. Someone had a small John boat with fishing gear tucked away in the woods under a camo tarp. His dad found and called the Sheriff. Sheriff said if no one came by in 30 days to claim the stuff, it would be considered abandoned and then his stuff. Don't know if this applies to this situation but that's my .02 cents

She would have to PROVE that he had it. Then she would have to prove that HE sold it. Tell him to keep his mouth shut and he'll be ok.

Abandonment, aye?
Prove that the GF left it there & that she showed no interest in returning for it.

Don't need a lawyer
It is small claims court matter Your friend messed up If she takes him to court, he will owe her for her property [bimmerapp]

Nope, if articles are left for over a set period of time the property becomes the landlord's. It's been a year.If anything she can owe him money, storage fees.

Again, does she have proof that she left them at your place? If so, can she prove YOU sold it and not her?
