Rain / Light Sensor Question
Hi All,
I bought my 05 330Ci last November. Love the car so far, but have noticed an interesting phenomena happening with my lights when in "auto" mode. When I start the car in the garage in morning the lights go on as expected. When I pull out of the garage the lights go off also as expected. Then if its a cloudy day the lights works perfectly as expected stay off while I'm light and turn on when they sense darkness. The issues is on bright sunny days I notice that lights switch on and stay on for no apparent reason. Could there be something wrong with the light sensor? Has this happened to anyone? I tried searching both here and Google and didn't find much. All help appreciated. Thanks |

I've seen cars stop at a stop light under a tree and a few second later the lights turn on. I assume it's the shade tripping the light sensor. Maybe that's what's up with yours.

Yeah that's expected but they are supposed turn off once out of the shade which they don't on bright sunny days, but work fine on overcast days.

Might have to replace the sensor, but personally I like to be in control of what goes on in the car so just turn on your lights manually when needed.
