Why have the E65 7 Series depreciated so much.

Browsing the classfieds and they have pretty much the same value or slightly more than an E46.

2002 745Li for $10,900

or 2003 745Li for $13,000

I remember when these hideous looking flagships first arrived they were almost $100,000

Both have a ton of miles and both are executive high end cars.

Those that can afford 7 series, don't buy used.

I would think its because the type of person that buys a car like that never maintains it. And its really not that special. It's a giant car with comfy seats and 10 year old technology. Also,you can't really impress too many high rollers with a ten year old car.

you'd be surprised. A clean E38 will still impress many people...

An E38 is still a classy car and looks very presentable and, in the right trim, still modern. It's quickly becoming a classic.

Def agree about the e38! It still catches my eye when I see a clean well kept 740 sport. It has real presence and stance on the road. A sense of character among all the soul less tin pushing down the asphalt.

I've often thought of scooping one up. But with traveling 75 miles a day, the mpg of the 8 cylinder is not going to win the argument.

My cousin still has his Imola Red 740i. Red on black, loaded, M package obviously. That car is just insane. If i'm not mistaken it still only has like 60-70k miles on it.
