Dang ... I thought higher the series number the better the car!

Lolzzzzz

Are we sure the new f10 3 and 4 series won't have similar long term problems given all their "fancy electronics" as well????

As I've owned an E66 760Li I thought I'd chip in to this thread.

1. 7's are absolutely the real deal if you want to drive in comfort - there's not much that mine didn't come with as standard. Everytime I drove mine it was theatre - absolutely an event.
2. In the 14 months I kept it I had a coil pack and some trim buttons that needed replacing. There were some tempermental electrical issues too and this is the E65/6's Achillies heel - they have so many electrical gizmo's that it's just statistically likely that you'll have an issue.
3. Repair bills (especially for the 760) are really steep. But then my car was 106K new. You buy a car that was 6 figures new, you've got to be clear that proper upkeep isn't going to be cheap.
4. I bought mine for 25K with 30K on the clock at 4.5 years old.
5. I sold it for 23.5K 14 months later.
5. Best purchase I've ever made - worst decision ever to sell it.

On the hunt for a B7, but they're rarer than rocking horse crap over hee.

Found this when browsing the classifieds.

I guess the E66 is so expensive to maintaince that you run out of money and can't even replace the BMW emblem in the front for $5.

How's the F01 in terms of reliability? Prices are starting to come down on those too.

Not sure but since most F01's are still under dealer warranty I assume it's not that bad yet...Maybe in a few more years as the 08's trickle down from lease returns to the ghetto's.

It's like you're talking but you're not actually saying anything or asking anything worth answering.

Found a pretty well kept e38 around here for $4800. Only has 61k miles. Just needs some M wheels. Not bad.

Looks so funny with the wheels not moving while he's driving.
