NBC "News" doctors yet another video

first "exploding truck" and then the "racist" George Zimmerman 911 call, now this:

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/matthew...ars-gun-rights

Videos in the link of edited and original

Quote:
MSNBC and NBC News--already famous for their perpetual bashing of conservatives and Republicans--are fast acquiring another claim to fame: dishonest editing of news footage to gin up the left-wing outrage machine.

The latest edit appeared on the Monday edition of the "Martin Bashir" program where the father of one of the victims of the Newton, Conn. school shooting was shown supposedly being shouted down by gun rights supporters as he testified before a hearing about banning certain types of guns in the state. Full video below the fold.

"A father's grief, interrupted by the cries of a heckler," a smug Bashir pronounced after running the clip.

In reality, however, no such interruption took place because the man, Neil Heslin, actually had invited people to challenge his question "Why anybody in this room needs to have one of these assault-style weapons or military weapons or high capacity clips?"
Naturally the edited video was picked up by all the libtards on twitter, facebook and on MSNBC and used as evidence of blood thirsty hearless, souless, dickless gun worshippers.

This is ridiculous, and yet people still turn on the news and believe it. See the problem yet?

NBC/MSNBC is pretty bad with that....they edit the stories to the point of CHANGING the stories.....who cares, their ratings are in the dumps anyway. Never understood why Freedom of the Press doesn't restrict false information.

Thanks for the update. I'd offer to boycott MSNBC, but I don't actually watch their programming.

This was prime time NBC news, not MSNBC. MSNBC just picked up on the NBC story and ran with it during pundit hour(s).

Sensational news rakes in the viewers and website hits. Makes the advertisers happy. Happy paying advertisers make the news outlets happy.

The masses that just happen to form the majority of their opinions from these doctored stories? Eh, who cares.

Well as long as it wasn't Brian Williams... I think I'll forgive them.

Hopefully Zimmerman's defamation case against them hits their bank account, that's really the only way to get through to these people.

I really hope Zimmyboy can retire off that. Although according to Megyn Kelly (Im sure you know her credentials)...and maybe you can offer your opinion on this...she claims that because he is a "celebrity" he has no expectation of privacy or something to that extent and will not have luck with this case. What do you think? Let me see if I can dig up the video.

I'm not a lawyer, but he wouldn't be a "celebrity" if his story wasn't twisted by the media to make it more marketable.

Fox News stretches a story, they're liars and everything they put out is to be ignored.

NBC alters stories all together and they're still considered perfectly credible.

He certainly isn't a celebrity, he is an accused murderer who hasn't even had his day in court. The media can't protect itself from defamation by simply giving someone tons of coverage.

Also, opinions are protected. I can say I think he's a scumbag, or a racist, or a murderer. Doctoring 911 tapes to sway public opinion and infect a potential jury pool is negligence at best, criminal negligence at worst.

Fox news ratings: 1.1 share
NBC news ratings: 9.2 share

That means Fox news struggles to break 1 million viewers and NBC is on the way to 10 million viewers. Yeah, who's doing more damage?

I just looked them up as I was posting, the ratings are public knowledge and several sites post them daily. Network news (NBC/CBS/ABS) get wayyyyyyy more viewers than cable news. The average American isn't watching Fox, CNN, MSNBC they turn on the old school channels.

Oh ok...no link.

I found this:

FOX News Channel is again top-rated cable news network for the month of January

They state this:
Quote:
This most recent win marks 11 consecutive years of FNC's dominance as the #1-rated cable news network.
And post these numbers:
Quote:
JANUARY 2013 NIELSEN RATINGS (7 day week):

TOTAL DAY

FNC: 1,029,000 total viewers; (209,000 in 25-54)

MSNBC: 491,000 total viewers; (160,000 in 25-54)

CNN: 448,000 total viewers; (135,000 in 25-54)

PRIMETIME

FNC: 1,617,000 total viewers; (267,000 in 25-54)

MSNBC: 790,000 total viewers; (235,000 in 25-54)

CNN: 664,000 total viewers; (200,000 in 25-54)

There is a marked difference between cable news and network news. Fox is #1 on cable, cable news can't even get in the ring with network news.

Nobody seems to know the difference.

Lucky for Fox News. I've seen countless posts from people who claim that Fox is bigger than any news outlet. Fox's number one program isn't even news. It's a talk show.
