No hard feelings at all your post on growing up around luxury and private schools made me think of Carlton. It's a shame to get a bad rap, I know all well how it is to be a minority.

But it'll always be the ones who are the worst that seem to have the most heard voice.

Not mine...I wish it was, they're my friend's father's cars. Those pics I had put up recently were for a photo contest at school about a year ago.

Your comments talk about where you are but not about your work ethic, morals, or personal responsibility. In the event that you're a hard working, respectful individual who is polite to elders and speaks eloquently, do some black kids label you as "not black enough"?

At the school my mom teaches at, black kids in the AP classes are essentially ostracized for trying... the result is that they associate themselves and "hang out" with the white and asian kids.

I know my comments are harsh but, in my honest opinion, the real problem with this black culture, is the fact that nobody wants to man up and call them out on shortcomings. There is NO PLACE in which this type of behavior should even be viewed as remotely acceptable.

This = Culture seen in the video. Not just the woman but everyone else around her idly standing around dressed like thugs and hos.

Watch this video. Bill Cosby has since been ostracized by most of the black community for being an Uncle Tom simply because he's asking for personal responsibility from blacks.

Back to tasing... I always like the "don't tase me, bro" guy.

I worked at 2 jobs over the summer to buy my car (3 if you count babysitting), I won the highest award at my school for being "a leader in the community" in sports and in the classroom, I pay for insurance gas and all of my parts, I'm going to college (just got my second acceptance letter ), no black kids have said that to me but I hear from my white friends "I'm the 'whitest' black kid they've met"which honestly pisses me the .... off. I don't feel like I'm "ostracized" I try to hang out with all of my friends no matter their race. I understand how people should act about this, I'm embarrassed just watching the video, but some of the comments are just immature. I don't have time to watch it now, but I definitely will later.

Two things :

1. Congrats on all the accomplishments. You sound like you have your head in the right place and you will go far in life.
2. You ask people to not believe everything they see and hear... but, like Bill Cosby said, the way to rise above stereotypes is to STOP PROVING THEM RIGHT. Looking just at the statistics, it's hard to argue that there ISN'T a cultural problem.
