Weak E-brake. Troubleshoot
Hey I was wondering if my 330xi it's the only e46 with a weak e-brake? When I park in a hill and put my e-brake on it literally don't hold anything. It's there anything I can change to get a stronger e-brake like manuals? Thanks

Come to a stop using the e-brake, this will clean the surface of the e-brake shoes and rotor, which are just a very small, cable actuated, drum brakes inside your rear rotors. The e-brake shoes are slightly biased in terms of what direction they work in, so if you want your cars e-brake to work better in the reversing direction, apply the brakes while reversing, etc.
If you have to pull the handle up more than the normal amount of clicks listed in (I think) the owners manual, you should adjust the tightness of the handbrake cables. |

Google the E46 Ebrake adjustment procedure. It's pretty involved but worth it to get a working ebrake back especially if you have a manual.
