6.6 magnitude earthquake in China

An earthquake with magnitude 6.6 occurred near Leshan, Sichuan, China at 00:02:47.27 UTC on Apr 20,

Quote:
A powerful earthquake struck the steep hills of China's southwestern Sichuan province on Saturday, leaving at least 156 people dead and more than 5,500 injured, nearly five years after a devastating quake wreaked widespread damage across the region.

Saturday's quake, while not as destructive as the one in 2008, toppled buildings, triggered landslides and disrupted phone and power connections in mountainous Lushan county. The village of Longmen was hit particularly hard, with authorities saying nearly all the buildings there had been destroyed in a frightening minute-long shaking by the quake.

Damn, shaking that lasted a full minute. That's gotta seem like about 20 minutes when you're actually in it.

Everyone else in this thread realized that my post was a joke and was a play on people who actually feel this way.

You didn't get the joke.

I was wondering when I'd get to the first post commenting on the 156 dead.

Every post, not just yours...but that's fine, it's fanatics. I thought your post was pretty funny, though...just saying.

RIP people.

There is a time for jokes n a time to be sensitive. You chose the wrong time eventhough this is the OT.

See bold.

But anyways, I apologize to you for not showing my sensitive side in OT for those who have died.

Made in China for U.S. consumption is excellent build quality compared to the crap they sell to themselves.

Bamboo sticks instead of rebar. Rebar deteriorates to a point that you can break off with your bare hands after 2 years. All the schools made with shoddy materials while the government offices are made with the best materials.

You should see the images after these earthquakes. Elementary schools flattened while the government buildings barely budged. There's no regulation or building code enforcements. Bribery and lawlessness rules the land.
