Nexus 4 now available on Google Play

Every time it's available for purchase, it sells out in a few days.

Don't forget to get case also. They always sell out and retail on eBay for $80.

Since it appears I can make this run on AT&T network, I just want to get everything straight. Can I just swap my nano-sim (with adapter to whatever micro/sim) on here and use it no problem? LTE? I would like to dabble in the world of android as I've been on nearly every iphone since it went 3g.

EDIT: What is band 4? I see I would need to tinker to get LTE to work....any chance AT&T could tell by the IMEI number it is a different phone and screw me over and cut my unlimited data plan if I say just used it on the weekends?

http://theunlockr.com/2012/12/10/nex...ou-get-it-too/

Double EDIT: Did some research and found that it looks like you can go from AT&T nano sim to N4 on the fly if you change these settings. http://forums.androidcentral.com/goo...m-adapter.html

Not sure if the LTE works though.

Thanks

A quick Google search says that AT&T does use band 4 (AWS band, 2110 - 2155Mhz down link, 1710 - 1755Mhzuplink) in the US, and that it should work, but only in limited markets. Most markets use 700Mhz because the lower frequency propagates longer distances.

You can search what markets use band 4 and see if any match up with where you are. I wouldn't count on it though.

Just got one to play around with. What are some of the best custom roms? I'll be rooting it immediately upon arrival.

I agree. That's why I also have an AT&T account. But don't need to swap out the iPhone 5 yet.

My friend's using the LiquidSmooth one. Seems nice. I'll know more soon!

Nope, no LTE. To make it even stranger, it actually has an (inactive) LTE chip according to Droid Life.

I believe there are some tweaks to enable it actually.

No, no, no. Don't go there.

Is HSPA+ as fast as LTE theoretically? Yes.
Is it as fast in day to day use/the way the carriers have implemented the two technologies? No.
Is it nice to have the additional speed of LTE over HSPA+? Yes.
Is the additional speed noticeable? Yes.
Is LTE necessary? No.
